Part-time Aquatic Leader 1 position at Edmonds Community Centre Pool providing aquatic instructional and recreational programs, supervising lifeguards and instructors, and maintaining safe pool facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deck and lesson supervision; ensure pool and changeroom areas are clean, safe and well-maintained
  • Supervise and support full-time, part-time and auxiliary lifeguards, instructors, and recreation attendants
  • Conduct swimming lessons, lifeguarding and safety training programs for aquatic staff
  • Participate in planning, organization and promotion of aquatic programs and special events
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports; emergency response as needed

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 completion plus courses in lifesaving, lifeguarding, aquatics instruction and pool operation and maintenance
  • Sound related experience including some supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of lifesaving, lifeguarding, CPR, first aid, teaching methods and group leadership in water safety
  • Knowledge of pool operations including pool chemistry, water filtration, chlorination, heating and equipment
  • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor, Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor, National Lifeguard - Pool Award, and Standard First Aid certifications required; Pool Operator and First Aid Instructor certifications an asset

Schedule: Friday 2:00 PM–10:30 PM; Saturday–Sunday 1:00 PM–9:30 PM
