About this job

Full-time temporary GIS professional role (12 months) within Technology Services to design, develop, and support geospatial data and technology solutions using Esri technologies, Python, FME, and data management expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and evaluate information technology proposals, requirements, analysis and design documents with detailed specifications of data, information and software architectures
  • Participate in design and evaluation sessions of spatial data structures and spatially enabled applications, including testing, audits and implementation support
  • Work on complex geospatial information systems with relational database management using analytical skills to research problems and conduct audits
  • Prepare detailed test plans for geospatial applications and conduct tests
  • Meet with clients to discuss needs, develop recommendations for improvement, identify business requirements and assess user impact

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Considerable experience with Esri suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise) for geospatial data design, analysis, publishing and management
  • Considerable experience with geospatial data management, quality assurance/quality control, and data publishing workflows in municipal or enterprise environment
  • Experience developing Python scripts and automating geospatial workflows within ArcGIS environment
  • Experience with SQL, spatial data types and functions, and geospatial ETL tools such as FME and/or Apache Airflow
