Semi-technical role assisting Wastewater Treatment Plant Technicians I and II with maintenance, repair, operation, and cleaning of WWTP assets. Position includes standby duty, weekend work, and potential overtime.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Technicians I and II in maintaining WWTP facilities per preventive maintenance program
Service, repair, condition, and overhaul equipment as required
Paint, clean floors/walls/glass, maintain lawns, shovel snow, and perform general cleaning
Inspect lift stations, record data (flow, hour readings, RPM, starts), and report to Superintendent/Technician I
Work standby duty, respond to alarms, and maintain plant operations in absence of Technician II
Qualifications
Completion of grade XII or equivalent
Valid P.E.I. driver's license and satisfactory driver's abstract
Knowledge of wastewater operation, maintenance, and treatment
Considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work
Willingness to obtain minimum Class I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator and Class II Collection certificates after employment commencement
