Permanent full-time weighscale operator at Dufferin Transfer Station responsible for operating computerized weighscales, processing payments, validating waste loads, and managing financial transactions for vehicles delivering solid waste and recycling materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate computerized weighscales and related equipment to gather data, issue tickets, and collect fees from vehicles
  • Ensure vehicles comply with site regulations and validate loads using Radiation Detection equipment
  • Process customer information, verify receipts, validate deposits, and process debit/credit card payments
  • Reconcile point-of-sale terminals and batch reports, prepare bank deposit slips, and generate daily scale reports
  • Balance cash and charge intake, complete daily activity reports, and respond to customer inquiries

Qualifications

  • Considerable experience in front-line customer service environment
  • Considerable experience handling cash, debit and credit card transactions and point-of-sale terminals
  • Experience with basic mathematical calculations and high volume data entry
  • Strong computer skills in CompuWeigh (CW) and Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to operate computerized weighscale, radiation detection devices, and radio frequency identification system
