Weekly curbside pickup of household garbage form residential and commercial properties in the Village of Tweed (approximately 750 residences and 100 businesses).

Council is also currently investigating costs for rural weekly or bi-weekly waste pick up. We request that the tender include an optional pricing to be provided for rural waste pick up separate from the Village pickup. The rural pickup includes approximately 1800 rural households with potential summer growth up to 2300 spread out over approximately 400 to 430 km of roads. The awarding of rural pickup will not commence immediately and the annual submitted price will be prorated appropriately. The decision to activate a rural pickup program is fully at the discretion of Council of the Municipality of Tweed.

Contract to start August 1, 2020 and will be awarded on a 3 year term.

The lowest priced tender will not necessarily be accepted.

There will be a public opening of tenders at 1:05 pm on Friday, July 3, 2020 in the Municipality’s Council Chambers. Any current Public Health requirements under the COVID-19 pandemic will be adhered to and enforced including capacity limits, minimum spacing requirements, available sanitizer, etc.
